Since 1962 WILKENS & Söhne has expanded their production into 18/10 stainless steel for the manufacturing of first-class cutlery. The alloy consists of 18% chromium, 10% nickel and 72% iron. With its bright, silvery sheen, stainless steel cutlery is both strong and highly resistant to staining, scratching and abrasion. Because of its resistance to stains and durability, stainless steel is often the choice for most food preparation also making it great for everyday use.

18/10 Stainless Steel is comprised of nickel and chrome
The chromium content is 18 percent and the nickel content 10 percent, hence the name "eighteen - ten". 18/10 stainless steel is currently the best dishwasher-safe cutlery steel - it is robust, durable and resistant to staining. It also comes at a more affordable price than our other cutlery and requires less polishing and maintenance making it a perfect house warming gift for those without the time to maintain Silver Cutlery but still want a high quality cutlery set.
